When Emily woke up the next morning, she wasn't feeling too great. There she was, sitting in her hospital bed and her tummy ached. She pressed the button on her bed to call the nurse. The nurse walked into the room, but something was different. Emily had never met this nurse, and there was something about her. All Emily could focus on was the nurse's bright red glowing curly hair, bright green eyes and wacky purple scrubs. The nurse was wearing some weird looking shoes that looked like they were made out of leaves. Emily was puzzled, and just starred at the young nurse.
"Good morning Emily, you buzzed?" the nurse said. Emily was still in a state of shock, something about this woman looked so familiar, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. "Well, you're not too talkative are you Miss Emily?" The nurse said and continued to talk "My name is Espie, nurse Espie. I think we will be good friends!" Emily looked at Nurse Espie and took a gasp of air and replied "Espie? Why do I feel like I know you?" Espie looked down at little Emily and took her hand, placed it over Emily's tummy and stood there. After a few seconds, she looked at Emily and replied "You've got a tummy ache I see. Now those are no fun. And I am sure it's all because of the chemotherapy you were on last night. Nasty buggers really! Those cancer bugs!" Emily just starred at nurse Espie again, this time with a confused look on her face. She had never heard anyone refer to Cancer or chemotherapy as bugs. Hmmm she thought to herself, and asked the nurse "Cancer bugs?" Nurse Espie was quick to respond "Yes, those cancer cells in your body that the chemotherapy drugs are used to kill. I just call them cancer bugs, because I see those little buggers!" Emily once again was confused, that her nurse was able to see little cancer bugs. As far as she knew, the cancer cells were microscopic, and too hard to see without a microscope.
